Overview
Devi Mandir is undertaking a capital renovation project to modernize its community auditorium and improve accessibility across key program spaces.
The project will include replacement of deteriorating flooring, upgrades to washroom accessibility, and modernization of the elevator system to ensure safe, reliable, and independent access for all community members.
These improvements will support the Mandir’s role as a regional hub for cultural, educational, youth, and seniors programming serving Durham Region and the eastern Greater Toronto Area.
Why the Project Is Needed
- Aging flooring creates safety concerns during high-attendance events
- The current elevator requires key-operated access and limits independence
- Washroom areas require modernization to improve accessibility
- Programming demand has grown significantly over the past decade
